A Picture a Day

I'm fascinated by this "picture a day" craze that seems to be sweeping my Facebook friends. It's a really simple concept: you take a photo every day for a year. It can be representational of your mood, a desire, fabulously artistic, or an actual picture of what you are doing that day. I can't imagine being able to keep up with it, but I think it's a cool idea.

For instance, I've been scheduled to return to NYC for a special team building session late next week. Sadly, I've come to the conclusion that there is absolutely no way to get out of it. For those of you who are X-Files fans, you should fill in your own tower of office furniture joke here. I'm not entirely clear on the purpose of me flying six thousand miles in two days (possibly three, as they aren't quite sure yet)—although we did have a 6:00am conference call for over an hour to discuss what we were going to discuss at our next meeting. So, that bodes well in a totally "Office Space" kind of a way. I just haven't figured out yet if I'm going to be the guy who finds the last straw centered around his stapler, or if I'm going to be saying things that end in, "Well, I wouldn't say I'm missing it, Bob". The best news to me was that after spending nearly six hours on a plane (no doubt in middle seat/coach hell), I have to go straight to the office for "vision" meetings. Oh, I'm having a vision alright. The topper? Tonight, I found out that the east coast is getting ready to get hit by another massive snowstorm. Sweet! Good thing that never causes difficulties.

My picture of the day is surprisingly clean. Let's say it is representational of how I'm going to get through the trip rather than literally what I am doing right now -- mostly because it is night, and assuming that I'm out doing something social at night is crazy talk.

Stay tuned for more exciting adventures in corporate bonding!

Kate, who thinks she has gloves somewhere around here…

Why do I have a sneaky suspicion that your tower of office furniture will have a human flag at the top??
