I think that you and I will have to end up living in Italy, hopefully near one another. Italian women ROCK their boots and wear them religiously (at least, in winter). You can be the American who wears grey ones, although I think of you of more of a black boots type of gal. And they regard shoe/boot-making with a type of religious devotion.
I hear you on the mind thing. At least you're not humming 80s tunes over and over, or something socially aggravating like that. Yeah, boots are awesome.
Laura Holt wore gray boots. I'm just sayin'...
